On Tuesday, December 7, YouTube announced the most viewed videos by Kenyans in 2021. The list reveals popular music videos uploaded and watched on YouTube, bringing new insights into what Kenyans turned to YouTube for in 2021.
This year’s roster has new entrants compared to last year, with Diamond Platnumz and Otile Brown being the only two artists to have participated in both years.
TT Comedian, Mungai Eve, Thee Pluto, and Terence Creative had the highest rate of growth in subscriber numbers during the year and became top creators and breakout creators. Other creators in the Best Creators category include Churchill Show, Tales of the Crazy Kennar, Tuko / Tuco – Kenya, Thee Pluto Show, Flaqo Raz, Terence Creative, Diana Bahati, and Jalango TV. Former Tuko Talks host Lynn Ngugi, Afrimax English, TrendsGirl, Emmanuella, popular comedian Vinnie Baite and Dance98 Academy all made the list of Kenya’s fastest growing YouTube channels in 2021.

The hit song “Sukari” by Tanzanian singer Zuchu was Kenya’s most watched video.
