Alex Nyenga, aka Jackie Russ, spent seven years as a videographer who put him behind the camera of many memorable Liberian music videos, earning him several nominations and accolades.
He has proven himself again as a premier video director in recent months, earning him nominations for the 2021 MTN – Liberian Music Awards (MLMA) for Best Music Video Maker and the 2021 Liberian Entertainment Awards ( LEA) for Video Director of The Year.
Even though Jackie Russ is not a familiar face, he is definitely a household name who has worked with many Liberian artists and influential celebrities. One of his unacknowledged gestures is that he gave Caroline M. Moore, better known as MC Caro, her very first music video for her song “Bring Our Money Back” in 2018.

7. Christoph Fort. Margas – Hold Your Polaruh (2016)
“Hold Your Polaruh” was directed by Christoph and filmed by Jackie Russ. The Nyenga brothers collaborated on one of the hottest Liberian songs of 2016. The video shows pool scenes and other surroundings, but also provides a landscape that frowns on men’s abuse of women.
6. C-Jay – My Wish (2018)
After starting his career with the hit song “Boss Chick”, C-Jay’s label Bilikon Entertainment turned to Jackie Russ to shoot “My Vow”, another song that quickly became popular among music lovers. .
5. Christoph Ft. Quincy B – Talking Too Much (2018)
The official audio track was released in 2017, but due to Quincy B’s death a few months after the song’s release, along with a few other complications, the video was only released in April 2018. The video reminds them of fans how much of a vivid impact Quincy B made, and portrayed some acting scenes from Christoph.
4. Peaches Ft. Christoph & Takun J – You Frisky Ehn (2020)
Whenever the old school mingles with the new school, it always turns out to be a classic. The majority of the scenes were filmed at the Ducor Palace Hotel, one of Liberia’s historic buildings. The song visual also shows some dance steps from King of Hip Co, Takun J.
3. Faithvonic Fort. T. Crack & Kpanto – Bounce on You (2021)
The song was produced by one of Liberia’s renowned producers, Stoneluck Shine, and features two big favorites from the street jamboree, T. Crack and Kpanto. He was dropped in October 2020 and played a part in the 2020/2021 Liberia County meetup as fans had something to dance and cheer on while supporting their respective counties. The video was released in early 2021.
2. TeddyRide Ft. DJ Blue – Pray For Me (2020)
A nominated masterpiece for both audio and visual awards, “Pray For Me” was an absolute hit in 2020. The video was filmed by Jackie Russ and produced by Mr. Johnny Kephe.

“Story” is arguably one of the most talked about Liberian songs of 2021, and Native has decided to team up with Jackie Russ on the concept of this self-explanatory video. The video is rated 18 for parental guardians with nude scenes. It also features comedian Angel Michael for guest appearance.
